Avsoft's coursware development and deployment method centers around a database. The entire content of a course are stored in a database. Information stored in the database consists of:
- Course module (electrical, fuel, etc...) information.
- Narration
- Graphics file information
- Audio file information
- Flash animation file information
- Simulation object logic
- Questions
- Text Glossary
- Graphical Switch Glossary
- Course settings
Course settings enable us to fine tune the delivery mode of a course. Settings include information such as delivery method (Portable Classroom or Web delivery), page sequencing behavior (fade in/fade out, audio sequencing, video sequencing), and more.
The database method is extremely powerful in that it enables the course to be deployed in one of the following manners:
- Local workstation delivery (Portable Classroom on a USB thumb drive, or on the workstation's hard drive)
- Web delivery behind a closed network (eg, a network that is not accessible from outside the organization)
- Web delivery on an open system (eg, a network that is accessible from anywhere in the world) . Courseware can be delivered through an LMS or without one. We offer customers an option to contract with Avsoft for LMS services.
- In addition, our approach also enables a training organization to lease our courseware but deliver it through their own Learning Management System.
