Avsoft announces ADS-B Course

Posted on: March 2nd, 2018

Avsoft is pleased to announce the release of the ADS-B Course for pilots.

Based on customer demand, Avsoft has developed a general subject course that explores the important concepts, definitions, limitations, components, and procedures related to Automatic Dependent Surveillance- Broadcast (ADS-B) surveillance technology. Topics discussed in Avsoft’s ADS-B course include system description, including ADS-B Out, ADS-B In, ADS-R, TIS-B, and FIS-B, flight planning, operating procedures, emergency codes, phraseology, and human factors.

This online pilot course is designed to comply with EASA, FAA, ICAO, and Transport Canada regulations and to provide pilots with about 1 hour of initial training. Customers have the option of customising this course to be suitable for recurrent training. This course concludes with a test, and when the test is successfully completed, a certificate of completion is generated.

ADS-B is a requirement for both the FAA’s NextGen Initiative and Eurocontrol’s Single European Sky Initiative.

The FAA has ruled that after 1 January 2020 all aircraft operating in Class A airspace must have ADS-B equipment installed.

Eurocontrol has ruled that all aircraft with an MTOW over 5,700 kg or maximum cruise capability over 250 knots must be equipped with ADS-B by 7 June 2020.

Avsoft’s eLearning Courses provide Airlines, ATOs, and individual pilots with comprehensive aircraft systems and general subject training, combined with flexible deployment and content customization options, all designed to simplify your life.
