Based on customer demand, Avsoft has developed a course that explores the important concepts, definitions, limitations, components, and procedures related to Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS).
Topics discussed in this course include the history of GPWS and EGPWS, TAWS specifications, EGPWS database, basic functions, including Modes 1-6, enhanced functions, including envelope modulation, Terrain Clearance Floor (TCF), Runway Field Clearance Floor (RFCF), and Forward-Looking Terrain Avoidance (FLTA), terrain alerting and display, Peaks display, limitations, inhibitions, and alert priority.
This course is designed to comply with EASA, FAA, ICAO, and Transport Canada regulations, and to provide pilots with over 1 hour of initial training. Customers will also have the option of customising the course to be suitable for their periodic Recurrent training. This course concludes with an Exam and when successfully completed, a certificate of completion is generated.
The EGPWS course complements Avsoft’s recently released CFIT course.
