Avsoft DGR 2020 Courses Update
Avsoft has updated its Dangerous Goods Regulations courses to include information from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) Manual 61st Edition, Effective 1 January-31 December 2020, and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Doc 9481 AN/928 Emergency Response Guidance for Aircraft Incidents Involving Dangerous Goods, 2019-2020 Edition. Avsoft’s DGR 2020 courses update includes Category 8 for Ground Crew, Category 10 for Flight Crew, and Category 11 for Cabin Crew.
IATA’s Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) cover the definition of dangerous goods, the classifications of dangerous goods, limitations, restrictions, exceptions, state and operator variations, storage requirements, as well as the associated responsibilities of shippers and operators, including identification, classification, packing, marking, labeling, consolidation, documentation, acceptance, storage, loading, inspection, retention of records, and training.
ICAO’s Emergency Response Guidance (ERG) covers emergency procedures for flight crew and cabin crew members to use during in-flight incidents involving dangerous goods, and includes general information, considerations, checklists, a table containing aircraft emergency response drills, and an index listing dangerous goods with drill codes that refer to the table.
Compliance with IATA’s regulations and knowledge of ICAO’s emergency procedures is essential for all those involved with the air transport of dangerous goods, including Ground Crew, Flight Crew, and Cabin Crew members. Avsoft’s Dangerous Goods Regulations courses provide a comprehensive introduction to the concepts, definitions, procedures, and responsibilities covered in the aforementioned IATA and ICAO documents.
