North Star Air, a charter, passenger and cargo airline based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada and serving the First Nation communities in High Arctic locations in the Northern Territories, has awarded Avsoft International a long-term contract for its pilot training.
North Star Air is using Avsoft’s ATR 72-500 aircraft systems eLearning course for initial pilot Type Rating training and will also use the ATR 42-320 and 42-500 courses with selected modules and tailored exams from the initial courses to satisfy its requirements for pilot recurrent training; the courses have been approved by Transport Canada.
Avsoft’s proprietary Learning Management System (AvLMS) was selected to deliver the courses and provides comprehensive reporting facilities to administer all aspects of pilot training and course structure. In addition, Avsoft’s RD3 Content Management System will be utilised by North Star to create new courses for their future pilot training.
