Overview

Avsoft’s Mountain Flying online aviation course explores important definitions, limitations, components, and procedures related to this important aviation general subject. In addition to covering Mountain Flying Fundamentals, this course covers Aspen Special Training, which includes information specific to Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (IATA: ASE, ICAO: KASE, FAA LID: ASE) also known as Sardy Field.

Learning objectives include:

  • Flight operations in mountainous areas
  • General operational considerations and limitations
  • Aspen training requirements
  • Aspen airport overview and considerations
  • Aspen arrival and departure requirements
  • Aspen Minimum Equipment List (MEL) limitations

Each module concludes with a test, and when all the modular tests are successfully completed, a certificate of completion is generated.
