Avsoft releases NAT HLA July 2020 course

August 7, 2020

The requirements and procedures for operations in the North Atlantic High Level Airspace (NAT HLA) continually evolve, changing as new technology allows for further reduction in aircraft separation and improved communication and surveillance capabilities. ICAO, whose responsibility it is to issue the required NAT HLA operational procedures and requirements for aircraft and operators, issued three updates in 2019 and two updates already in 2020. Avsoft’s NAT HLA July 2020 online course for pilots and dispatchers incorporates these recent updates and is based on the ICAO North Atlantic Operations and Airspace Manual (NAT Doc 007), V.2020-2.

This online aviation course includes four modules, which cover the following topics: NAT HLA structure, aircraft separation, equipment requirements, including RVSM, RNP, PBCS, and LRNS, NAT CMA monitoring, the Organized Track System (OTS), random tracks, Blue Spruce routes, special routes, polar tracks, required documents, FMS flight plan entry, plotting charts, oceanic clearance and entry, Strategic Lateral Offset Procedure (SLOP), oceanic exit, post flight, equipment failures, external factors, emergency situations, and volcanic ash.

Avsoft’s Aviation First Aid course is SCORM compliant and can be delivered via Avsoft’s proprietary LMS (AvLMS) or any third-party LMS so it is easy for airlines and training organizations with an existing LMS solution in place to add this course to their existing training.
